Overall objectives:

1 - Introduce students to concepts and tools to help them conduct a research project in the Management area: 1) the links between theory, methodology and choice of research techniques;
2 - Principles and practices at the level of research design and data collection; and
3 - Issues related to the validity and reliability of research, bias, and ethics. In short, provide students with knowledge about all the assumptions and procedures underlying the preparation of a dissertation or a master?s project.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Program content is addressed in theoretical-practical, through: 1) the analysis of the theoretical principles of the program; and 2) interactive classes, fostered by the intense and valuable participation of students, where several scientific articles will be debated with the objective of evaluating and discussing methodology used. The evaluation consists of two elements (all with a minimum grade of 9.5): Assignment 1 (50%), students will research, analyse and present published scientifical articles (examples of different research methodologies); and Assignment 2 (50%), which corresponds to the elaboration of the research project. No assessment element can be recovered or improved on the Época de Recurso ou Especial.
