Mestrado em Design

A practical and collaborative master's program that aims at design as a creative agent in the changing world. change towards sustainability. A teaching experience that takes place in the inspiring scenario of Madeira island - The pearl of the Atlantic, an ideal laboratory to design solutions to local problems with global repercussions.
An 24-months, 120 ECTS programme with international dynamics, Erasmus+ exchanges and integration in funded projects, where it is possible to develop practical and creative research in product, service and communication design, supported by laboratories equipped with the latest computational tools, 3d printing, laser cutting, photography and video, illustration and craft workshops.
A future-oriented multidisciplinary program, where the designer is a creator of sociocultural value and a catalyst for change.

Career Opportunities and Employability

Graduates of this course will be able to work as designers in the context of research or professional practice in the areas of product design, service design and communication design. The inclusion of students in research projects with associated companies and institutions aims to contribute to their insertion in the labour market and to the development of their autonomy as the author and manager of a design project in its entirety.

Candidates

This course is aimed at professionals in the fields of Design, Architecture, Engineering and Art, or similar areas. Holders of a bachelor's degree or legal equivalent can apply for this course; holders of a foreign higher academic degree, recognized as meeting the objectives of the bachelor's degree may also apply; holders of a scientific or professional curriculum duly recognized by admissions jury may also apply.
