Overall objectives:
1 - know the competency profile of the General Care Nurse and the Quality Standards of Nursing Care;
2 - Relate the socio-political organization of health care to the international, national and regional levels;
3 - Understand the fundamental concepts related with community health and the factors that condition it;
4 - Characterize PHC by integrating them into the socio-political organization of health care;
5 - Understand the different strategies of nursing intervention in the community associating them with the different levels of prevention;
6 - Recognize the principles of human communication and its importance in interpersonal relationships and in nursing intervention;
7 - Acquire cognitive, technical and relational skills in the nursing consultation using the interview techniques and the help relationship;
8 - Understand the nursing process as a scientific methodology in nursing intervention;
9 - know the principles and epidemiological concepts in the context of population health.

Evaluation Methodology:
The expository and demonstrative methodologies will be used with the active participation of the students, both in the discussion of the subjects covered during the lectures and in the scope of their autonomous work. Bibliographic research and document analysis. Resource for training techniques through simulation and role-playing. Discussion in the case room. Assessment according to model B of the UMa apprenticeship evaluation regulation, namely in the normal period: 3 frequencies (25% each), 1 practical test (10%) and 1 group assignment with oral presentation (15% each) The approval of the course implies approval in all components (minimum 9.5 values) and requires attendance in 75% of the hours. There is recovery at resort/improvement or special season. The final classification is expressed in the scale of 0 to 20 values and is the responsibility of the teacher.
