Overall objectives:
1 - This CU aims to provide an analysis of the essential economic principles, in the scope of the micro and macroeconomics for the analysis of the tourist phenomenon, as well as an analysis of its economic impacts. The objectives of this CU offer the analysis of theories and concepts of economics and provide an understanding of the economic importance of the sector and the functioning of markets. Students should also apply the economic concepts to the analysis and resolution of case studies. Students should also be aware of tourism policies and funding systems, and the importance of sustainable strategic planning. Students should also understand the importance of geography in order to comprehend the phenomenon of tourism and understanding of geography in the light of mobility experiences. Finally students should understand the geography of tourism and apply the knowledge to case studies.

Assesssment methods and criteria:
Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)
Evaluation Methodology:
The program is covered through theoretical and theoretical-practical classes (through the analysis of key theoretical concepts and the adoption of classes focused on student participation and practice of knowledge, methods and concepts learned). The evaluation is ensured through one written assignment plus one written test. The minimum grade is 6. Students are strongly encouraged to develop their research skills through additional reading suggestions. Students are also encouraged to participate in discussions / analyses undertaken in the classroom, through problem solving, in order to improve their ability to apply concepts and analytical tools. Case studies (through analyses of relevant legislation, journalistic articles, studies and reports) are adopted in each item of the program. At the Re-SIt Exam, through a written exam, the student can recover the total grade (100%) or can recover only one part of the grade (50%).
