Objetivos Gerais:
This course aims at enhancing the students knowledge of English both written and orally. The students will acquire information related to Madeira and Nature activities, as well as, practice and revise basic language structures and vocabulary. At the end of the course they will be able to talk about themselves and the features in Madeira. They will be able to describe places, give directions, engage in conversation, argue points, express opinions, solve problems and guide tours in Nature and the city. Students will be between a B2 and a C1 level, according to The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

1.The English Language

1.2. Vocabulary:
1.2.1. Extending vocabulary with affixation and compound words.
1.2.2. Collocations
1.2.3. Acquiring specific vocabulary and terminology.
1.3.Writing:
1.3.1. Summarizing
1.3.2. Expressing opinions and arguing points of view.
1.3.2. Writing reports, claims and letters.
1.4. Speaking:
1.4.1. Using the English language to recount, explain, and describe,
1.4.2. Using the English language to interact in specific and in everyday situations.
1.4.1. Phonetics and pronunciation.
1.5. Reading:
1.5.1. Extracting information from different types of Texts.
2. Information about Madeira
2.1. History ? Important Events and Historical Details.
2.2. Cultural information ? Cuisine, People and Activities on Madeira.

Métodos e Critérios de Avaliação:
Os alunos serão avaliados por dois testes escritos (30%+ 30%) e um teste oral em sistema de entrevista. Os restantes 10% são distribuídos pela assiduidade e pontualidade (5%) e pelo empenho, interesse e participação na aula.
