Overall objectives:
This subject aims to provide the student with skills and practical experience in evaluating and prescribing exercise in special populations with particular conditions, such as children and the elderly, or chronic health problems, such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, dyslipidemia , metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis, asthma and cancer. The theoretical course aims to deepen knowledge of the particular characteristics of those conditions, as well as the special considerations to be taken into account in the processes of both assessment and prescription for those populations. On a practical level, it is recommended the experimentation and operationalization of exercises and methodologies relating to the processes of both assessing physical and physiological fitness and prescribing exercise to those populations.
