Overall objectives:

1 - Identify and describe the meaning of different concepts: vulnerability and vulnerable populations;
2 - Acquire theoretical framework and identify people / groups with increased vulnerability and their main characteristics;
3 - Identify specific situations of vulnerability and risk contexts;
4 - Describe the particular characteristics of the person and vulnerable contexts;
5 - Identify situations of negligence;
6 - Act towards help and protection to the user;
7 - Identificar recursos de apoio;
8 - Know strategies, within the scope of its performance in addressing vulnerable users / groups;
9 - Learn ways to adapt communication in difficult situations;
10 - Identify situations in need of specific intervention and communicate, according to the situation, to the most appropriate health professional;
11 - Intervene with the person, family and groups in a vulnerable situation.

1 - Concept of vulnerability and vulnerable populations;
2 - Legal framework for support structures;
3 - Especificities in approaching users with: - Mental disorders - Addictive behaviours and addictions - Infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis) - Neglect, violence and abuse - Poverty - Pain, ...

Evaluation Methodology:
Classification Type: Quantitative (0-20) Evaluation according to model B of the UMa learning assessment regulation, notably in normal season: 1 frequency (50%), 1 group work (50%) The approval of the curricular unit implies approval in all components (minimum 9.5 values). There is a possibility of recovery at a time of resource/improvement or special. The final classification is expressed on the scale of 0 to 20 values and is the responsibility of the teacher.
