Overall objectives:

1 - To know the importance of managing spaces, materials and equipment appropriate to the identified needs;
2 - To know the basic principles of healthcare associated to infection and preventive measures;
3 - To understand the importance of its roles, both institutionally and at home, in the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.

Syllabus:

1 - Microbiology concepts: morphology and structure of microorganisms; Microbial growth;
2 - Action of physical and chemical agents - Pathogenicity of microorganisms;
3 - Concepts of infection: Epidemiological chain - of transmission of infection; Healthcare associated infection (community, hospital); Biological risk/risk situations exposure;
4 - Infection prevention and control - Cross-cutting notions: National Infection Prevention and Control Program, Infection Control Committees, Protocols and Legal Framework;
5 - Basic precautions: Vaccination, Personal Hygiene, Hand Hygiene and Personal Protective Equipment;
6 - Circuit concept (clean and dirty);
7 - Cleaning and sanitation of the environment;
8 - Waste treatment - classification, sorting, packaging and collection;
9 - Water management for various uses;
10 - Identification of intervention needs in the environment (spaces, materials and equipment).

Evaluation Methodology:
Classification Type: Quantitative (0-20) Evaluation according to model B of the UMa learning assessment regulation, notably in normal season: 1 frequency (50%), 1 group work (50%) The approval of the curricular unit implies approval in all components (minimum 9.5 values). There is a possibility of recovery at a time of resource/improvement or special. The final classification is expressed on the scale of 0 to 20 values and is the responsibility of the teacher.
