Overall objectives:
1 - Know general concepts of communication.
2 - Understand the importance of communication in establishing interpersonal relationships in the work context.
3 - Understand the importance of tailoring its communication to different audiences and cultures.
4 - Apply communication techniques in interacting with the person, family and community.
5 - Recognize the need and importance of adapting communication principles in the professional relationship.
6 - Understand the importance of teamwork and its relationship to the quality of services and care.
7 - Apply communication skills in its group interaction.
8 - Understand the conflict in its aspects and its impact on its professional performance. Know conflict management strategies.
Syllabus:
1 - Communication: Elements of the communication process; levels of communication; general principles of communication; types of communication and their adequacy to the identified needs; communication functions; communicational styles; rules for effective communication.
2 - Importance of communication in interpersonal relationships; communication techniques regarding specific experiences and behaviours; communication and interculturality
3 - Interpersonal relationships: types of relationship; interpersonal relationship (person, family, services and multidisciplinary team); group concepts; group dynamic; communication in the group.
4 - Conflict: Traditional versus current view of conflict; types of conflict; conflict in work context; ways of dealing with conflict; skills for dealing with conflict; techniques for the effective resolution of divergences.

Evaluation Methodology:
Classification Type: Quantitative (0-20) Evaluation according to model B of the UMa learning assessment regulation, notably in normal season: 1 frequency (50% each), 1 group work (50%) The approval of the curricular unit implies approval in all components (minimum 9.5 values). There is a possibility of recovery at a time of resource/improvement or special. The final classification is expressed on the scale of 0 to 20 values and is the responsibility of the teacher.
