Overall objectives:
1 - Know the concepts related to physical activity, well-being and aging;
2 - Describe the changes in the main physiological systems resulting from aging;
3 - Describe the relationships between physical activity and well-being in the elderly;
4 - Know the current recommendations for physical activity for the elderly with regard to quantity, intensity and type;
5 - Identify the benefits and risks of physical activity;
6 - Identify the contextual factors that influence the adoption and maintenance of physically active lifestyles;
7 - Reflect on the most appropriate strategies for promoting physical activity and well-being, considering the context.

2 - Impact of aging on the main physiological systems;
3 - Physical activity and well-being in the elderly;
4 - Recommendations for physical activity in elderly people;
5 - Benefits, adverse events and risks of physical activity;
6 - Environments that promote physical activity and well-being in the elderly;
7 - Strategies to promote physical activity and well-being in an institutional context and in the community.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Evaluation Methodology:
The aim is to acquire and apply the knowledge foreseen in the objectives and syllabus contents. Assessment Methodology: Classification Type: Quantitative (0-20) Assessment according to Model B of the UMa Student Learning Assessment Regulation, namely in normal season. The approval of the curricular unit implies approval in all components (minimum 9.5). There is possibility of recovery in resource/improvement season for all components. The final classification is expressed on a scale of 0 to 20 values and is the teacher's responsibility.
