Overall objectives:
1 - Analyse the geometry of the terrain surface based on its planimetry and altimetry, using different methodologies of cartographic representation;
2 - Evaluate distances, areas and volumes from topographic maps, using numerical methods and adequate instrumentation;
3 - Recognize the elementary shapes of the terrain, draw topographic profiles of the surface;
4 - Use instruments and accessories aimed at measuring distances, azimuth and zenith angles and heights on the ground;
5 - Perform simple topographic surveys;
6 - Acquire and understand the essential notions of geographic information - georeferencing;
7 - Understand and apply coordinate systems: geographic and metric;
8 - Develop applications within the scope of a GIS project: variables and attributes.
