Overall objectives:

1 - Know the legislation on projects, their phases and elements;
2 - Know the information related to legislation and bibliography existing at national measurement rules applied to civil construction;
3 - Know the practical rules of measurement with the quantification of the various works foreseen in a project;
4 - Understand budgeting as an instrument of financial quantification of a work understood by each of the entities involved in the process;
5 - Understand cost structures in civil construction: direct costs, indirect costs, shipyard costs, margin;
6 - Determine unit prices based on composite price sheets;
7 - Elaborate, using a practical case analysis, a measurement map and a budget.

Syllabus:

1 - Project: Ordinance 701H-2008 of 29 July: General Concepts; Instructions for preparing construction projects; Works and categories, types of project, phases of the project and necessary elements;
2 - Measurements and measurement rules: Main measurement standards, Project analysis and objective quantification of work, Creation of work maps, Detailed measurement maps, Estimation of cost and budget of the work; Calculation of project fees; Standards and bibliography on measurement rules;
3 - Cost estimate and budget works;
4 - Budget from the contractor's perspective: Factors to be taken into account; Fundamental Concepts; Main stages; Cost structure in a budget; Quantification of costs of the various resources: Composite unit price sheets; Budgeting of a work.
