Overall objectives:

1 - Apply knowledge of agriculture, agrodiversity and agrosystems: emphasis on fundamental notions and concepts of inter and intraspecific diversity, agricultural systems and their components.
2 - Understand the concepts of agrodiversity and genetic resources for agriculture and food and the importance of these resources in the agriculture and organic production.
3 - Understand the concept of agricultural systems and their importance in agriculture and agricultural production
4 - To know the forms and strategies for evaluating and valuing vegetable varieties, agricultural and agri-food production
5 - Apply the knowledge acquired in the analysis and evaluation of agricultural systems and their sustainability
6 - Reflect on the knowledge acquired and value its application in agricultural practice
7 - Interpret, evaluate, decide and intervene responsibly in situations related to future professional activity
8 - Develop and demonstrate initiative, autonomy and work habits

Syllabus:

1 - Introduction to the history of Pecuária.
2 - Fundamental notions about agrosystems.
3 - Fundamental notions of agrodiversity and agricultural resources.
4 - Concepts of management of agrosystems and agricultural resources.
5 - Techniques of analysis and evaluation of agrosystems.
6 - Valorisation of agricultural resources and agricultural production.
7 - Use the knowledge obtained to carry out an inventory of agricultural and genetic resources, and cultural practices used locally.
8 - Explore and implement the requirements and techniques for assessing the quality and health of propagating material.
9 - Characterize, analyse and evaluate an agricultural system (agricultural exploration), using the knowledge acquired at C U.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
In accordance with the expected for the Professional Higher Technical Courses. The evaluation of the Curricular Unit includes the performance of a test with a weight of 35%. It also includes a laboratory practice report (15%), a fieldwork report (15%) and a project (35%). All of these elements must obtain a minimum rating of 9.5 values. Only the assessment made through the test can be recovered at the time of appeal and subject to improvement.
