Overall objectives:
1 - General: 1 Analyze non-digital materialities of literature in the field of literary and cultural studies of the 20th and 21st centuries; 2 To know and analyze cases of electronic and graphic materiality of writing.
2 - Specific:1 Understand the concept of remediation and the process of convergence in the contemporanity; 2 To deepen knowledge regarding the concepts of hypertext and hypermedia; 3 Describe and question the concept of intermediality.
Syllabus:
1 - The divers ity of materialities in contemporary culture and literature.
2 - The concepts of hypertext and hypermedia: history and state of art i n contemporary times (Vannevar Bush and Theodor Nelson at the present time);
2.1 - "Hypertextual text" vs.. "Textual hypertext" (Eco, 2003).
2.2 - The concepts of 'remediation' (Bolter and Grusin, 2000) and convergence (Landow, 2006);
2.3 - New connections between the eye and the screen (Hayles, 2002).
3 - The materiality of the literary artefact, printed and digital (Hayles, 2002);
3.1 - The literary machine (Calvin, 1984; Derrida, 2001);
3.2 - Hypertext as technology (Wardrip-Fruin and Monfort, 2003);
3.3 - Linearity, visuality and kinetics: the computer as a projection machine (Theodor Nelson, 1974; Bolter, 1991).

Evaluation Methodology:
Critical reading and analysis of theoretical and theoretical-pra ctical bibliography; analysis of the corpus, textual and digital; reflection, in the context of the classroom, from the concepts studied, in articulation with the reading and analysis of the corpus studied in the subject. General evaluation parameters: preparation of two essays from the reading and analysis of the reference bibliography; to know how to write two research papers (short and long paper, with respectively 3 and 10 extension A4 pages (excluding bibliography and annexes), typewritten 1.5 spaces, letter 12, Times New Roman, with a respective weight of 50% and 50% of the final grade in the seminar.
