Overall objectives:

0 - The main objective, associated to the development of this curricular unit, is to provide the student, with the necessary knowledge to
1 - Analyse and understand the problems that are inert to the conception and dynamization of physical and sports activities in populations with special needs
2 - Demonstrate an attitude of promoting awareness of the difference, the need to adapt the planning and intervention methodologies, in a collaborative and cooperative context of a multidisciplinary team
3 - Recognize the limitations, needs and restrictions of participation of people with special needs in physical and sports activity programs, creating an adequate intervention
4 - Design, implement and analyse intervention plans, demonstrating the mastery of didactic and pedagogical tools suited to the needs and capacities of people with special needs
5 - Know and understand some types of Adapted Sports, dominating aspects to enable their implementation in physical and leisure sports activities

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
The program content will be approached through theoretical, theoretical-practical and laboratory sessions. The sessions mostly feature an expository character reinforced with audiovisual material and supported by supporting documentation. The design and dynamization of adapted motor activity plans will be requested in order to fostering situations of debate, research, cooperation, analysis and critical reflection among students. The evaluation of the UC is based on the following parameters: i) two theoretical-practical short tests (30%, 15% each); ii) individual work (20%); iii) group work (30%); iv) Continuous assessment (20%) based on criteria attendance to class activities, punctuality, relevant and substantiated interventions.
