Overall objectives:

1 - To understand the use of familiar and everyday expressions, as well as simple statements aimed at satisfying concrete communication needs.
2. - To develop linguistic competence through a guided, systematic and rigorous learning of the morphosyntax of the French language as a foreign language.
3. - To introduce yourself and others.
4. - To communicate through familiar and everyday expressions used in recurring communication situations.
5. - To formulate simple statements whose objectives are to satisfy concrete needs.

Syllabus:

1. - Unit 1: Welcome! French, France and the Francophonie;
1.1. - Bordering countries and seas;
1.2. - French culture and civilization (French products, monuments, personalities and traditional festivals);
1.2.1. - The alphabet and sounds of French (throughout the semester); Classroom communication (speech acts).
2. - Unit 2: Greeting / Taking leave Introduce yourself: Personal identification;
2.1. - The present indicative of the verbs ?to call?, ?to be?, ?to have? and ?to live?; Cardinal numbers (0-60);
2.2. - Countries and nationalities; The feminine of adjectives;
2.3. - Prepositions + countries and cities (?à?, ?en?, ?au?, ?aux?); The interrogative sentence.
3. - Unit 3: Leisure To express tastes and preferences;
3.1. - The question words ?who?, ?that?, ?where?, ?when?, ?how?, ?why?;
3.2. - The Near Future;
3.3. - Partitive articles.

Evaluation Methodology:
The teaching of the program focuses on sessions that combine the theoretical and practical components with an emphasis on orality and writing. The evaluation of the UC French Language A1.1. (Elementary Level), through continuous evaluation, consists of 2 individual written assignments, with the same weighting of 35%, and through a brief oral presentation (20%). Participation and attendance: 10%.
