Overall objectives:

1 - At the end of the course unit, students are expected to have deepened the basic knowledge of the German language, being able to meet the learning goals with regard to understanding, speaking and writing at level B1.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Furthermore, they will have developed metalinguistic awareness of the functioning of the German language in a contrastive way, as well as the competence of autonomous and group work.

Syllabus:

1 - During the contact hours, completion of the tasks from the first part of the manual used for level B1 and the supplementary material, under teacher guidance.
2 - During autonomous work, completion of the tasks in the workbook (6.5 hours of work per week) and the supplementary material.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Students will work in classes mainly in the following 3 variants: individual, pair and group. Classes will be frontal only when necessary, regarding some linguistic aspects due to its complexity, or because it was not clear, or by request of the students. The assessment consists of 2 partial exams (45% each) and other assignments (10%), focused on the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. The final grade is the average of the results of the 3 assessment elements. A minimum final grade of 9.5 is required in order to pass. During Supplementary Season, students with status N will be admitted if they meet the conditions to recover or improve the test in which they obtained the lowest mark (45%). Students with status T may take a test of the 2 partial exams (90%) in the Supp. S. Students admitted to the Special S. may take one written test corresponding to the 2 partial exams (90%). Continuous assessment (10%) cannot be recovered or improved during Supp. and Sp. Seasons.
