Overall objectives:

1 - This course unit introduces the students to the area of German Linguistics.
2 - A deeper understanding of the phonetic and morphological parts of the language lessons from the courses "German A1" and "German A2".
3 - Acquisition of knowledge about the basic principles of phonology, phonetics and morphology for learning German as a foreign language at a basic level.
4 - The phonological, phonetic and morphological basics of German will be dealt with, also from a contrastive perspective.
5 - Acquisition of knowledge about difficulties in learning the pronunciation of German from the perspective of non-native speakers of German.
6 - Acquisition of knowledge about elementary ways of learning German pronunciation.
7 - Acquisition of knowledge about elementary ways of learning word types and word formation.

Syllabus:

1 - Phonetics and Phonology: German vocal system and consonantal system; German prosody: terminological problems; word accentuation rule / sentence accentuation / melody; Physiology: hearing and speaking.
2 - Morphology: What are words? Morphemes and Morphemes; word types; word formation

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Theoretical-practical classes; expositive sessions and discussion of relevant themes; Students have prior access both to the bibliography and material used in class and to all the lecturer's presentations on the InfoAlunos platform so that they can follow the lecturer's explanations better. Evaluation: Continuous assessment (resolution of worksheets in pairs or groups, oral test in pairs or groups, listening test) 50% + one written test (50%); In the supplementary season students with "worker" status (T) and students with "normal" status (N) will be admitted, if they meet the conditions to recover or improve the partial exam. The continuous assessment cannot be recovered or improved in the supplementary season or in the special season. In the special season, students can take a written test (50%) to pass the written part of the course unit.
