Overall objectives:
1 - The student characterizes the pathophysiological mechanisms resulting from infection by microorganisms
2 - The student characterizes the mechanisms of defense to the organic injury, coming from the vulnerability to the pathogenic action of the microorganisms;
3 - The student characterizes the human immune response;
4 - The student analyzes the intervention of the nurse in the different levels of prevention throughout the natural history of the infectious disease. SKILLS;
5 - Understand the changes in pathophysiological processes as a contribution to the rationale for nursing care;
6 - Defends the conditions of a safe care environment, as a fundamental condition for the therapeutic success of medical interventions;
7 - Argues for the need to adopt infection control procedures;
8 - Organizes health information to help individuals, families and communities achieve optimal health and rehabilitation levels.

Assesssment methods and criteria:
Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)
Evaluation Methodology:
The different contents will be treated with an active-participatory methodology, using the expository method, oriented study and problem solving through the case analysis. The evaluation model is the B, according to the UMa learning evaluation regulations and includes a frequency (50%) and a written work (50%). The final classification is expressed in the scale of 0 to 20 values and is the responsibility of the teacher. The approval of the course implies approval in all components (minimum 9.5 values) and requires the presence in 80% of the contact hours. There is recovery at resort / improvement or special season.
