Overall objectives:

1 - Identify the main building blocks of a communication system.
2 - Understand the theory and methods of analysis of the main radiofrequency circuits.
3 - Develop skills in the design of circuits and of radiofrequency and microwave systems.
4 - Use simulation tools and appropriate equipment to measure parameters in circuits and communication systems.
5 - Develop soft skills, such as the ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering, and the ability to communicate effectively and teamwork.

Syllabus:

1 - Introduction to radiofrequency communication systems.
2 - Parameters of the transmitting and receiving systems.
3 - Impedance matching techniques.
4 - Filter design.
5 - High-frequency amplifiers and automatic gain control.
6 - Couplers and power dividers.
7 - Mixers and modulators.
8 - Oscillators and frequency synthesizers.
