The cycle of studies of the Undergraduate Degree in Basic Education is comprised of 6 semesters (3 years). Those who obtain 180 ECTS are awarded the title.
This degree aims to provide coherent and effective training in the scientific, artistic, technical and pedagogical fields, promoting professional practices in both formal and informal contexts. The main objective of the Undergraduate Degree in Basic Education is to train students to be able to perform professional activities in the educational field.
Throughout the degree, students will develop their learning and critical thinking skills within the scope of basic and early childhood education, building a global vision in children, their life and learning contexts.
Undergraduates in Basic Education will be capable of carrying out several professional tasks focused on children and on the service networks that assist them, such as curricular enrichment activities, extracurricular activities and activities that support school integration.
The conclusion of this cycle of studies allows the access to the 2nd cycle of studies (Masters’ degree), that provides professional qualifications to the teaching career in Early childhood education and in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education.
