Overall objectives:

1 - This curricular unit aims to provide, firstly, a deepening of the audiovisual field of creation, and secondly an introduction to animation, in a context of professional audiovisual production directed to the proposals developed by the students. The UC also aims to motivate the student to work as a team to build a video. At the end of the learning process the student should:
2 - - To know the current productions in the audiovisual area in the artistic context.
3 - - Understand the fundamentals of animation and its different techniques.
4 - - Apply in a creative and articulated way the different languages of animation expressed in the results of the practical work.
5 - - Reveal technical understandings in the scope of realization, post-production and audiovisual mastering.

Syllabus:

1 - Language and audiovisual narrative (Pre-production).
2 - Procedures for realization, interpretation and photography (Production).
3 - Examples of author cinema and contemporary experimental video.
4 - Sound fundamentals. Features, editing, mixing and production.
5 - Examples of animated films (historical and independent).
6 - Animation: characteristics and processes.
7 - Animation techniques: stop-motion, pixilation, claymation, cut-out, rotoscopy and cartoon.
8 - Post-production, audiovisual mastering and application of digital animation programs.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Expositive and demonstrative method related to the aspects, both plastic and technical, of the discipline. Methodology of practical experimentation. So, the basic knowledge of the techniques and materials inherent in the practice of video and animation in its various contexts will be provided, as well as the visualization of exemplifying material, providing the student with: - Exercises and Work proposals that lead to the experimentation of the topics stated in the program. - Encouraging research on the subjects under study, using bibliographical recommendations in specific areas. EVALUATION Continuous evaluation: individualized pedagogical and didactic accompaniment and balance sheet at the end of each work proposal. Periodic evaluation: work/exercise proposals: work phasing analysis, research and experimentation: practical assignments will have a weight of 10%, 20%, 10% and 25% and are recoverable in an appeal exam. The theoretical-practical work 30%, is not recoverable on appeal.
